FINAL
My first media literacy skill I really appreciate is the ability to look more in depth into the media we see every day. From the beginning of class till the end, we were constantly taking apart pieces of media and looking at them from every angle of the spectrum rather than just glancing at them once and doing away with them. Now I can look at media and understand what exactly the piece of media I am looking at is trying to portray in the big picture.
The second media literacy skill I appreciate from class would be the ability to take apart pieces of art and photo’s. This skill I believe is one of the most underestimated skilled we can have as people. Until this class, I never knew you could look at a photo and come up with so many different possible reasons as to what the artist message is. I have learned that there is always more information than meets the eye in media.
The final media literacy skill I have developed is the ability to work to work in Adobe applications. This actually helped me very much in my other classes where I had to develop print ads. Having the knowledge of knowing how to use these applications is a very powerful attribute to have, especially if you are an advertising major like myself.
